Hello everyone,

Hope you have been able to ride during this unusually mild winter we've had.  I am sending this early because my last email indicated we would be having Sue back in February. We had to cancel the clinic planned for February because there were several riders and horses who regularly clinic with Sue (including me), who could not participate for a multitude of reasons.  Therefore, I got the new dates for March.

Mary Duke who generously has hosted this winter/spring clinic had a conflict with the dates Sue had available.  Therefore, we are planning to use Roy Yates Horse Training for the event.  Jen Hibpshman from RYHT is graciously allowing us to use either the indoor area or outdoor, whichever works best for our clinic with uncertain spring weather. 

She has indoor stabling available, and there is space to tack up inside if the weather is bad.  Please contact her if you are coming from out of town and want to stay overnight.

I have heard from several people who are excited to get going, so please be sure to send your entry early to avoid disappointment.

Hope to see you all either riding or auditing at this clinic!  I’m looking forward to seeing you and your horses again soon!

Who Doesn't Love A Good Dance Party?  Learn To Make It Extra Special With This Symposium

Judging by the interest in musical freestyles at the October show, GVDS is pleased to offer a Freestyle Symposium for both English and Western riders!  Presented by none other than the Queen of Freestyle, Chair of the USDF Freestyle Committee and USDF "L" Program Faculty, Dolly Hannon, who will be sharing her knowledge as a judge and freestyle expert.

This event will be held on April 5-6 at or near the Mesa County Fairgrounds.  April 5 will be an off-site in-person lecture How Freestyles Are Judged and How To Create A Winning Freestyle.  April 6 will be Ride-a-Tests, Both Freestyle and Regular (or both if you choose!) at the Fairgrounds.  Stabling is available so plan to attend both days.  Closing date for riders is March 15 and April 1 for auditors.  Please see this flyer for more details.
